FSC names new Southern Ambassador Coordinators

LAKELAND, Fla. (June 1, 2006) — Florida Southern College announced that four new students were chosen to be Southern Ambassador coordinators for the 2006-2007 academic year.

Southern Ambassadors are an elite group of 25 student volunteers, selected on the basis of an application and interview process for their involvement in the college, pride for FSC and dynamic personalities. They assist the admissions office in student recruitment by giving weekly tours to prospective students and families and assisting in campus recruitment and scholarship events.

“The Southern Ambassadors are superior representatives of Florida Southern in all they do,” said Stacy Koach, assistant director of admissions at FSC. “They not only share with prospective students FSC’s exceptional academics, outstanding arts, championships athletics and inspiring architecture, but they share their personal experiences as students as well. We are exceptionally proud of the coordinators for next year’s program.”

The following are the new Southern Ambassador coordinators and their positions:

Head coordinators (2): Rebecca Higgs, a junior communication major from Tavares, Fla. and Karen James, a senior psychology major from Rochester, N.Y.

Chair of recruitment and special events: Bethany Evans, a sophomore communication major from Glenville, Pa.

Chair of education and training: Jessica Reidling, a sophomore elementary education major from Winter Haven, Fla.
