FSC nursing department earns master's degree program accreditation

LAKELAND, Fla. (April 13, 2006) — The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education awarded the Florida Southern College nursing department full accreditation of its Master of Science in Nursing degree program on April 7. The program received initial accreditation for the maximum of five years. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program for registered nurses (R.N. to B.S.N. program) received accreditation renewal for the maximum of 10 years.

“We are pleased with the Commission’s recognition of the quality of our nursing programs,” said Mavra Kear, chair and associate professor of nursing at FSC. “Professional accreditation is a voluntary process and we are proud that we meet the national standards of good educational practice in the field of nursing.”
