Melvin Art Gallery presents Alumni Exhibition
LAKELAND, Fla. (March 7, 2006) — Florida Southern College presents the work of 48 talented alumni artists March 13 through March 25 in the Melvin Art Gallery on campus. The exhibit opens with a reception March 13 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Many of the artists will be present at a second reception during Homecoming weekend, March 24 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Both receptions are free and open to the public. “This year’s Alumni Exhibition includes work of a great diversity of style, by several rather prominent artists from around the nation and the world,” said Downing Barnitz, FSC professor of art emeritus and guest curator of the exhibition. “Many of the featured artists work in the field as instructors, studio owners and professional artists, and have received acclaim for their art.
