Melvin Art Gallery presents Robert Recht exhibit

LAKELAND, Fla. (Dec. 22, 2005) — Florida Southern College will present the paintings, photographs, and videos of former FSC art professor Robert Recht, Jan. 14 through Jan. 27 in the Melvin Art Gallery on campus. Recht will discuss his work at the opening reception Jan. 14 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Recht’s exhibit approaches from different angles the flow of media, or mediated information, into our consciousness. Recht, now working in Miami, seeks to capture and analyze the “psychic disarray” of a culture whose experience of time and space has been transformed by technology.

The Melvin Art Gallery is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and during intermissions of most performances of the FSC Fine Arts Series.  For more information please contact the gallery at (863) 680-4223.
