Melvin Art Gallery presents multimedia exhibit of artist and professor Lisa Erdman

LAKELAND, Fla. (Oct. 25, 2005) — Florida Southern College will present the digital prints, photographs, and multimedia installation of assistant professor of art Lisa Erdman, Nov. 4 through Nov. 24 in the Melvin Art Gallery on campus. Erdman will discuss her work at the opening reception Nov. 4 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Erdman’s exhibit, “Annual Checkup,” uses the visual language of the medical and pharmaceutical industries to explore the state of health care in the United States. The exhibit also addresses the expanding role of pharmaceutical drugs in psychological care. Erdman’s work has been featured nationally and internationally at venues such as The Kitchen performance space in New York City, Hull Time Based Arts in Hull, England, and the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh.  

The Melvin Art Gallery is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and during intermissions of most performances of the FSC Fine Arts Series.  For more information please contact the gallery at (863) 680-4223.
