FSC student selected as ICUF Presidential Fellow

LAKELAND, Fla. (Sept. 12, 2005) — Florida Southern College senior Chancie Housholder has been selected by the Independent Colleges and Universities of Florida as an ICUF Presidential Fellow for the 2005-2006 school year. ICUF presidential fellows organize campus campaigns in support of independent higher-education. The main goal for this year is to increase funding for the Florida Resident Access Grant (FRAG).

Housholder, a public relations major from St. Petersburg Beach, participates in the Student Government Association as vice president of student activities and in her sorority, Kappa Delta, as vice president of public relations. She took part in the ICUF orientation session in August to become familiar with the Presidential Fellows program. “The orientation session opened my eyes to the fact that the FRAG is always in jeopardy,” she said. “We must continually lobby to keep our funding.”
