Florida Southern College Named Among Top 10 Accounting Programs in Florida by Accounting Careers for Dummies
LAKELAND (February 24, 2012) – Florida Southern College has been named one of the top business accounting schools in the U.S. by AccountingCareersforDummies.com. The College was listed as the No. 10 accounting school in Florida. “In creating the list of top business accounting schools by state, Accounting Careers for Dummies considered a number of variables including academic rigor, admission selectivity, faculty experience, job placement/post-graduation results, educational value, accreditation and financial aid availability,” said John Lukrich, owner and CEO of AccountingCareersforDummies.com. Florida Southern’s accounting program is part of the Barney Barnett School of Business & Free Enterprise. The program includes a fifth-year option that allows students to qualify for the Certified Public Accountant exam. Dr. Bill Rhey, Dean of the Barney Barnett School, said the ranking by Accounting Careers for Dummies recognizes the value of an accounting degree from FSC. “Florida Southern has outstanding, experienced, professional faculty members who are respected in the profession and who are known for their scholarship. Accounting majors from FSC are regularly placed in excellent jobs – with large accounting firms, corporations or with nonprofit organizations,” he said.
