Behind the Name: Annie Merner Pfeiffer Chapel
Henry and Annie Merner Pfeiffer Henry Pfeiffer (1857-1939) was founder of the Pfeiffer Chemical Company. Annie Merner Pfeiffer (1860-1946) served in various capacities with the Methodist Episcopal Church Woman's Home Missionary Society. The Pfeiffers did not have children, instead directing time and money to Church charities. The Annie Merner Pfeiffer Chapel became the cornerstone of the Frank Lloyd Wright campus at Florida Southern College. Annie Pfeiffer received an honorary doctorate from FSC in 1941.
