The School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Florida Southern College announces a new full-time nursing faculty position. This is a tenure-track position with rank according to credentials and experience. Interviews will start in March 2014 with date of appointment to be August 2014.
The School of Nursing and Health Sciences includes a BSN pre-licensure program, a RN/BSN program, and a MSN program. Accreditation is with the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
This position is full-time with teaching load to be equivalent of 12 credits for each semester (fall and spring). Area of teaching expertise would be Adult Health (Medical-Surgical Nursing) including didactic and clinical with at least one related support area such as Health Assessment, Basic Skills, Pathophysiology, and/or Pharmacology. While this assignment is for the undergraduate program the candidate may be invited for graduate program teaching. Graduate teaching would depend on appropriate credentials as a clinical nurse specialist or nurse practitioner. Teaching experience in higher education required.
Education, Work Experience and Requirements
•Licensure in Florida current or before hire date.
•Documented practice in area of expertise
•Completed advanced degree in nursing (MSN)
•Completed doctoral degree in nursing or related field preferred.
•References for professional practice and for teaching excellence
