The Human Movement and Performance Program of Florida Southern College (www.flsouthern.edu) seeks a full-time, tenure track assistant professor beginning August 2014. The selected candidate will teach twelve credit hours per semester. Courses that may be taught include kinesiology, exercise science, and motor learning and development. Prior teaching experience will be advantageous. The successful candidate will possess a passion for student-centered learning and student engagement. There must also be interest in undergraduate research, with a working knowledge of equipment and instructional technology used in undergraduate exercise science laboratories. The position will require participation in academic advising, scholarship and professional development as well as campus governance.
Education, Work Experience and Requirements
The position requires a doctoral degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science or a related field; A.B.D. will be considered if completion is assured prior to the beginning of fall semester 2014. Certification by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and/or the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) is advantageous.
