Security Escort Personal Safety System

The Security Escort Transmitter provides instant access to Campus Safety personnel for medical emergencies and personal safety situations. The Security Escort Transmitter is the size of a keyless remote used for your vehicles. When activated, the Security Escort Transmitter sounds an alarm in the Campus Safety Office, which is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. In seconds, Safety professionals will know who and where you are and can dispatch a Safety Officer to assist with your needs. When activated the Security Escort Transmitter displays all your personal information, such as race, gender, height, hair color, cell phone number, etc. The Security Escort Transmitter is a form of a GPS System, which means it tracks your movement no matter where you are on campus.

ALL new students are required to purchase the Security Escort Transmitter. The cost of the Security Escort Transmitter is $50.00 per year, and will be billed to your student account. Please complete the Security Escort Personal Safety System User Agreement below:

  1. The information about me set forth above is accurate. Also, I am at least eighteen years of age and able to enter into this agreement; or, if I've included my parent/guardian's contact information.
  2. By submitting this form, I acknowledge that I have or will receive a Security Escort Personal Transmitter and I agree to pay $50.00 if I fail to return it at the end of the agreed period of use.
  3. I agree to pay promptly, when due, the required Fees for use of the System. If any such Fees are not paid within 30 days after they become due, my use of the System may be terminated.
  4. I agree to keep the Personal Transmitter within my own possession and to make sure that others do not use it. I will take good care of the Personal Transmitter, and I will not make alteration or repairs to it. I understand, that, if the Transmitter is not cared for or operated correctly by me, it might not send the intended emergency signals to the Campus Safety Office.
  5. I agree to become thoroughly familiar with the System Users Manual, upon its receipt.
  6. I understand that there are certain limits on the coverage and capabilities of the System, and detailed information on these matters is available at the Campus Safety Office.
  7. I understand that the System is another tool being used to enhance the Campus Safety provided by the school and that no such tool an no such security can guarantee to perform as intended at all times. Accordingly, I agree; (a) that use of the Personal Transmitter and the System is not a substitute for safe behavior, (b) that I will not expose myself to personal risk under the misconception that the System will provide me with protection that would compensate for taking the risk, (c) that a System or security failure or malfunction shall not be a basis for any claim for injury or damages against the School or any installer operator, distributor, or manufacturer of the System or any part of the System (altogether the “Parties”) except for liability arising from gross negligence or gross misconduct, (d) that, since the fees paid for use of System are based on the direct System cost, none of the Parties shall be liable for any incidental or consequential damages and, (e) that the provisions of this section 7 shall apply not only to me but also to any person claiming for or through me.
