Donations of Equipment
If you have electronic equipment that you no longer need and would like to donate for a bit of a tax writeoff, please consider our needs. Of course, we are trying to keep up with advancing technology, but we still have not obtained all of the equipment needed to do the job set before us. Following is a list of the various pieces of equipment that we currently need. Large-bed scanner for larger format materials. We have had a document scanner and now have an 11"x17" scanner with transparency adapter. With these we can now scan the larger photographs in our collections, and the smaller FDOC promotional materials. In order to scan newspaper layouts and the larger FDOC promotional materials properly, we need one of the rare 3'x4' bed scanners, but we aren't holding our breath over that one! Magnetic Tape Player/Recorder to play reels and cassette tapes we have in the collections. We have not the resources to have them all transferred to the same format, and we do not have even a simple cassette player. Working Projector for 8mm, 16mm and 32mm films. Again, we have not the resources to convert them to VHS cassette or DVD, although recently we acquired a TV/VHS player on which to view them if they were to be converted to VHS format. Donations to Florida Southern College's Florida Citrus Archives are tax-deductible. Simply assign a value to your donation and our Advancement Office will issue an official gift-in-kind receipt for your tax purposes. |
