Deciding to go to graduate school requires research, planning, and preparation.  The Career Center staff can help you answer these important questions:

• Is graduate school right for me?
• How do I go about choosing the right graduate school?
• How do I get ready to apply to graduate school?

To assist you with information gathering, attend the Law School Caravan, Career, Internship, and Graduate School Expo, and the Preparing for Graduate School workshops sponsored by the Career Center during the fall semester. 

These opportunities will give you information about specific programs, financial aid and individual school requirements you will need to know before making your decision.

Once you have decided to go to graduate school, you must prepare by:

• Obtaining letters of recommendation
• Writing a personal statement
• Securing official transcript(s)
• Submitting standardized test scores
• Completing an application
• Preparing a graduate school résumé

It is best to plan early to allow enough time to gather the required documentation and to visit the Career Center for personal statement and résumé assistance.
