SPORT MANAGEMENT

Barney Barnett School of Business and Free Enterprise & Free Enterprise › Undergrad Studies › Sport Management

Generating more than $400 billion a year, there’s no
denying that sports are big business in the U.S.

FSC’s sport management track is tailored to the specifics of marketing teams and tournaments. Providing opportunities in public and private companies, media and entertainment agencies, and facilities and event operations, this diverse and ever-growing field demands well-trained managers with industry-specific skills.

Sport management combines traditional business instruction with practical, hands-on learning experiences to give you the necessary insights and opportunities to build the résumé needed to break into this competitive industry.

What You’ll Learn

When you choose to focus on sport management, you will learn how economics, accounting, marketing, psychology, law, communications, and management relate to the business of sports. You’ll learn how to plan sporting events and how to market them effectively.  You’ll also explore sports publicity, coaching, and administration.  When you graduate, you’ll be prepared to take on a leadership role in the industry.

Location. Location. Location.

In addition to a wealth of campus opportunities with our championship NCAA Division II athletics program, our Central Florida location means we are surrounded by teams from every major professional sport, spring training baseball camps, and dozens of golf courses that offer student internships.

Career options

Sport management students go on to pursue careers as agents and publicists. They work for sports teams and leagues, college athletic programs, and facility and event management. Sport management is a broad field, and the knowledge you’ll acquire about both business and sports makes for a full arena of action-packed possibilities.
