here for a camp brochure* Call 863-680-4249 for details From the north or west and southwest: Take I-75 or I-275 to to I-4 east. Take Exit 27 (570E, Polk Parkway exit). Proceed approximately 6.1 miles to Exit 7 (South Florida Avenue - toll $0.50). Turn left on to 37N (South Florida Avenue) and proceed approximately 1.5 miles and turn right onto Beacon Road. Proceed to the lake and turn left onto Lake Hollingsworth Drive. Follow the perimeter of the lake until you reach Johnson Avenue (slightly less than one mile). Turn left. Turn right at McDonald Street. Park in the third parking lot entrance on the right. From the East: Take I-95 south to I-4 west. Stay on I-4 to Exit 33. Turn left. Bear right just after the overpass onto SR33 (Lakeland Hills Blvd.) The street name will change to Massachusetts Avenue. Approximately four miles from the interstate, Massachusetts Avenue will end at Lake Morton Drive. Turn right. Follow the perimeter of the lake until you reach Success Avenue on your right. Follow Success Avenue Turn left at McDonald Street. Park in the third parking lot entrance on the right. From the Southeast: Take
the Florida Turnpike north to the Yeehaw Junction
Exit (Route 60). Follow Route 60 west toward
Tampa. Once in Bartow, follow the signs for
Highway 98 North. Once on 98, proceed into
Lakeland (approx. 13 miles). Watch for Grove Park
Shopping Plaza on your left. Just past the
shopping center, turn left onto Crystal Lake
Drive. Continue on Crystal Lake Drive until it
ends. Turn right on Lake Hollingsworth Drive
Follow the perimeter of the lake until you reach
Ingraham Avenue. Turn right. Turn left on
McDonald Street. Park in the first parking lot on
your left. CAMP INFORMATION Camp Eligibility ... Girls, ages 8 and up Camp Cost ... Boarding camp: - $375 per camper ... Non-Boarding camp: - $270 per camper ... Non-Boarding with Meals - $335. There will be NO discounts. No charge for coaches bringing 10 or more players. No formal instructions for coaches. Deadline ... June 22 Balance Due ... June 22 Refunds ... No refunds of deposits or tuition will be given. Boarding Camp Hours ... Sunday evening: 6:30-7:30 pm; Monday-Wednesday: 9:00-11:00 am, 1:30-3:00 pm, 6:00-7:30 pm; Thursday Morning: 10:00-11:00 am (Awards), Check out of dorms immediately following conclusion of awards presentation. Non-Boarding Camp Hours ... Hours for non-boarders will the same as boarding camp hours. First session is 6:30-7:30 pm, Sunday evening. Swimming Pool ... The college pool will be available in the afternoons (weather permitting) Registration & Check-In ... (Boarding Campers): Boarding campers are to report to the lobby of Allan Spivey Residence Hall Sunday afternoon between 3:00-4:00. Final registration and room assignments will be made at that time. A $10 room key deposit is required. Registration & Check-In ... (Non-Boarding Campers): Non-Boarding campers are to report to the lobby of Allan Spivey Residence Hall Sunday evening between 6:00-6:30. First session is 6:30-7:30, Sunday evening. What To Bring ... (Suggested only): Pillow, bed linens, blankets, towels, toiletries, socks, cleats, glove, bat, tennis shoes (mandatory), alarm clock, band-aids, container for water, aspirins (camp staff may not dispense aspirin), swim suit, jacket, p.j.'s, underclothes, shorts and T-shirts, soap for the laundry machines. TENNIS SHOES MANDATORY FOR BATTING CAGES. There are no phones in the dormitory. If you wish to have a personal phone, you should bring a cellular phone. Remember, you'll be here for five days, so bring enough clothes for work sessions and free time! Camp store will have softball souvenirs as well as T-shirts, snacks, etc. No coolers will be allowed in the dormitory. How To Enroll ... Camp enrollment is limited to approximately 100 participants. Therefore, early registration is strongly suggested. A deposit of $150 is required with each registration. Mail completed Registration Form and make check payable to Chris Bellotto's Softball Camp, FSC, 111 Lake Hollingsworth Drive, Lakeland, Florida 33801-5698. Return of your cancelled check is evidence of your acceptance to camp. Awards Presentation ... An awards presentation will be held Thursday from 11:00-11:30 a.m. Parents are welcome to attend this event which is held in the Thrift Alumni Center.. Special Note ... A current medical certificate must be on file with Coach Bellotto at the time of registration. This past year's medical for school is acceptable. Meals can be arranged for an extra fee of $65.00 for non-boarding campers (Monday thru Wednesday, lunch and dinner) * Every effort will be made to place you with a preferred roommate, however it is IMPOSSIBLE to accommodate every request. Great chance to be seen! Over the years, we have signed numerous former camp participants to scholarships here at Florida Southern. We have other camp instructors who have signed former campers to scholarships at their respective colleges and universities as well. Camp Features ... Barnett Field (home field of the Lady Mocs); Certificates for all campers; Lighted field; Covered batting cage; Videotape analysis of individual skills (offense and defense); Instructional films; Free camp T-shirt; Contests: Trophies will be awarded to winners. Excellent Accommodations ... Two resident campers to a room in an AIR-CONDITIONED college resident hall with 24-hour adult supervision. Coach Bellotto stays in the dorm with the campers (Also members of the FSC team). 24-hour Campus Security on Duty. Lights out for everyone at 11 p.m. Camp Store ... A camp store will be open in the residence hall every afternoon and evening for the campers. Food and drink will be sold along with a variety of softball merchandise for sale (i.e., shirts, shorts). Insurance ... Each camper must have their own personal injury policy insurance. Medical Certificate ... Each camper at final registration must present a current medical health certificate indicating you are able to participate in softball sport activities. This health form will be returned on request. This past year's medical for school is acceptable. Camp Emphasis ... Our camp is designed to teach young players as well as to increase the skill levels of the more experienced players. Campers will be instructed in the following areas: Infield Play, Outfield Play, Bunting, Sliding, Hitting and Baserunning, Pitching and Catching. CAMP STAFF CHRIS BELLOTTO - Florida Southern College softball head coach - 1989 & 1993 NCAA Division II National Coach of the Year ... one of only 11 coaches in NCAA history to record 1,000 wins ... only coach to lead a Florida collegiate softball program to a national championship ... 10-time South Region Coach of the Year ... 14-time Sunshine State Conference Coach of the Year ... winning percentage of over 77 percent (fourth winningest coach in the NCAA Division II) ... Member of Sunshine State Conference, FSC and Polk County Sports Halls of Fame. JEFF LANG - FSC softball assistant coach - third season at FSC ... former head coach at George Jenkins High ... led Eagles to a 148-52-1 record and four district titles ... took GJHS to state playoffs six times. JULIANNE COLEMAN DUNHAM - FSC softball assistant coach - third season at FSC ... former FSC pitcher ... compiled a 80-18 record with 13 saves and a 0.75 career ERA ... struck out 857 in 684.2 IP ... two time SSC pitcher of the year. AL BELLOTTO - FSC softball assistant coach - returns second stint as assistant having coached for his sister, Chris, from 1988-2002 ... works with hitters and helped 1993 national championship team post a .371 team batting average, a record topped by a .376 mark in 1995. The Florida Southern coaching staff earned 2006 and 2007 South Region Coaching Staff of the Year recognition following back-to-back seasons that saw the Moccasins finish third and fourth at the NCAA Division II national championships.
