Florida Trend magazine listed Doc Dockery ’61 as one of
the most influential Floridians in 2005. Doc in his passionate
drive to realize his dream of a high-speed rail system in
Florida, brought his ambitious plan to the public. He chairs
four businesses in total and contributes his time to at least
fifteen political, civic and fraternal organizations. He is a
former editor and publisher and a trustee of Florida Tax Watch,
a statewide watchdog for citizens’ tax dollars.“After a
rewarding and enjoyable eight years of service in the US Air
Force, coming to FSC in 1959 was a great opportunity to
transition into a new career. The foundation for that transition
was uniquely provided by a wonderful cadre of professors and
friends. They have my everlasting enthusiastic thanks for all
they taught me.”
