William Buck ‘71

The ultimate entrepreneur, Bill first built a successful career
in real estate before launching his ground-breaking new venture
in mobile power stations. With almost thirty celebrated years of
experience in the real estate business, Bill is a well-respected
leader in the field. He recently brought his resourcefulness and
talent to the establishment of SkyBuilt Power, an energy
solutions company that has developed the world’s first
containerized, “plug and play,” modular, mobile power systems
for military, homeland security, and commercial markets.
SkyBuilt has signed with In-Q-Tel, a private venture group
established by the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, to develop
the Mobile Power System (MPS). These innovative and highly
prized units use renewable energy (any combination of solar,
wind, micro-hydro, diesel and other energy sources), set up in
just hours, can be remotely controlled, and run for decades with
little maintenance. Bill still finds time for his commitment to
the community, and the golf game he loves. He and his wife Suzie
(Cooper) are active in many Arlington civic and charitable
organizations, while traveling between their homes in Virginia
and Pompano Beach, Fla. Formerly on the board of trustees of
Florida Southern, Bill continues to be an ambassador for our
College.
