Master of Accountancy (MAcc)

Our 16-month MAcc program prepares students for the Certified Public Accounting examination and an exciting career in accounting.

Offered in a convenient hybrid of traditional and online coursework, with students meeting in a classroom on campus one Saturday per month and the remaining assignments completed in a convenient online format. The accelerated 16-month program will prepare you to succeed in today’s competitive marketplace.

As a graduate of Florida Southern College's Barney Barnett School of Business & Free Enterprise, one of the five percent of business schools accredited by the AACSB, you will have the knowledge and confidence to solve complex problems, develop forward thinking strategies, and be respected in your field. This innovative program integrates functional skills in accounting, ethics, and quantitative and qualitative analysis with the managerial and motivational skills required of today’s executive leadership.

CPA Licensure

Completion of the B.S. (bachelor’s degree) in Accounting and the MAcc (Master of Accountancy degree) will prepare the student for CPA licensure, including 150 hours of academic credit.*

* Please note: A student who desires to be licensed as a CPA in the State of Florida will also need to pass the CPA Exam and to complete one year of supervised experience.

Special Features

Our faculty are CPA’s with significant practical experience, including active tax practices, former experience with major accounting firms, and fraud investigation.

Network with professionals at meetings of the Florida Institute of CPAs, the Institute of Management Accountants, and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

Comprehensive course offerings include forensic accounting as well as courses in tax, cost accounting, and auditing.

Our accounting program prepares a student to complete the 150-hour academic requirement to become a CPA, and includes a CPA Review Course to help you prepare for the exam.
