You are probably asking yourself why we call these events “Frank Fridays.”  America’s most famous architect, Frank Lloyd Wright, designed 12 buildings at Florida Southern to create the “…the first uniquely American campus…”  You will see some amazing architectural structures among traditional collegiate buildings, palm and fruit trees, our Water Dome, and rose gardens nestled on the shores of beautiful Lake Hollingsworth.  You will also get the “scoop” about Florida Southern from current students, faculty, and admissions counselors. 

Enjoy a continental breakfast and a brief introduction to Florida Southern when you arrive.  You then will experience a small group campus tour, enjoy lunch in Wynee’s Bistro, choose from one of five dynamic class options, and learn all you need to know about the Admissions and Financial Aid processes.  At the end of the day, you will know so much more about Florida Southern and be able to determine if FSC is the perfect fit for you.

SCHEDULE FOR FRANK FRIDAYS

9:00 - 9:15 a.m.             Check-In and Continental Breakfast
Meet us in the Admissions Office and mingle with our counselors and other students while enjoying a continental breakfast.

9:15 - 9:30 a.m.             Welcome
Bill Langston, director of admissions, and our admissions counselors and awesome students officially welcome you to FSC!  We will learn more about you and fill you in on the day’s activities.

9:30 - 10:00 a.m.          Introduction to Florida Southern College
Enjoy a presentation about Florida Southern called “Florida Southern College is On the Move!” and see a video about our exceptional student life programs.

10:00 - 11:00 a.m.         Campus Tour
Our friendly Southern Ambassadors take you on a leisurely walking tour of our campus to see the many gardens, the Water Dome, classrooms, residence hall rooms, wellness center facilities, TuTu’s Cyber Cafe and much more.  This is a great opportunity to ask students what it is really like to be a Moc Star! (FYI - our mascot is the Moccasin.)

11:15 - 12:10 p.m.         For Students – Attend Class – FSC-style
At FSC, we’re all about “engaged learning.”  Our style of teaching and learning means you work closely with your professors to do research, you will have abundant opportunities for study abroad, you can take advantage of guaranteed internships, and you can participate in service learning projects and community service.  At Florida Southern, learning is hands-on!
You will be able to attend one of the following classes (these are possible courses from which to choose; classes are subject to availability):

• Ethics with Dr. Dan Silber
• Interpersonal Communication with Dr. Vicki Wuertz
• Introduction to Management with Dr. Mike Knudstrup
• Introduction to Psychology with Dr. Patrick Smith
• Personal Finance with Dr. Craig Bythewood
  

11:15 – 12:10 p.m.        For Parents – Academic Showcase
Parents will learn about our outstanding faculty and academic programs and our Student Solutions Center.

12:10 - 1:00 p.m.           Lunch in Wynee’s Bistro
Enjoy lunch in Wynee’s Bistro, where you can choose from delicious dining options at Portobello’s, Stacker’s, the Farmer’s Table, Choice Cuisines, or our famous salad station.

1:00 - 1:30 p.m.             Student Panel
Get the real scoop on FSC from our student ambassadors.  Learn about living on campus, academic programs, student life and more from students who started the search process just like you and who chose to attend FSC over their many other options.

1:30 - 2:00 p.m.             Admissions and Financial Aid Session
Learn more about how to apply to Florida Southern and what your options are for making a top-quality private education affordable for you and your family.

2:00 – 2:45 p.m.             Admissions Counselor Individual Visits   
You can choose to meet with an admissions counselor to talk in more detail about admissions and Florida Southern College.  We are here to help guide you through the process and to provide vital information to help in your college search.

If you would like to meet with an athletic coach or a program director for fine arts, please indicate that when you register.  Coaches and program director meetings are subject to availability.
