The Charles R. Rubado Golf Scramble was started to raise money for a memorial scholarship fund in the name of 2LT Charles R. Rubado, a 2004 graduate from Florida Southern College and the Army ROTC program. 2LT Rubado was killed in action in Tal Afar, Iraq on 29 August 2005. He was a member of the Moccasin Cadet Battalion that will forever be remembered and honored by his fellow comrades. He was the student, person, and leader that the cadets aspire to one day be. Our battalion is responsible for training students just like 2LT Rubado to become the future leaders of the United States Army, who upon graduation will receive a commission as a second lieutenant. We will be hosting the tournament on Friday, March 23, 2012 at City of Bartow Golf Course. Registration is 11:30 a.m. with tee-off to follow at 1 p.m. Individual or Team Registration: Students - $50; Others - $75 CHANCE FOR A $10,000 HOLE-IN-ONE WINNER! Proceeds from the Golf Scramble will go towards a scholarship fund named in honor of 2LT Charles R. Rubado, and help support the Florida Southern ROTC program and its sponsored events. The fair-market value of benefits associated with your payment/participation will be deducted from this payment, with the remainder treated as a charitable contribution.
