Estudia en España

Florida Southern students in Spain riding statues of bulls.

The Estudio Internacional Sampere (EIS), founded in 1956, is one of the pioneers of modern language teaching in Spain.  It has four school locations: Madrid, El Puerto de Santa María (since 1988), Salamanca (since 1992), and Alicante (since 2000).  Students come from Spain as well as many other foreign countries.  Classes have no more than ten students per class.

All participants are housed with Spanish families in locations convenient to the Estudio Internacional Sampere and provided with three daily meals. Two students are normally housed per family. Students are encouraged to spend time with their families to improve their Spanish speaking and listening skills. For more information, contact Dr. García.

For an application, go to the Study Abroad Program office.

INTERNSHIPS IN SPAIN
There are several options for unpaid internships. Please note however, the student sometimes receives a voluntary stipend from the participating company to provide the student with pocket money. The internship is offered to students who have successfully completed their first year of college/university in their country of origin. The internship usually lasts between 2 and 4 months and must represent no more than 50% of the total academic course period (8 weeks of classes and 8 weeks of internship). The internships are available from the following companies:

  1. International Affairs: internships available in tourism, fashion, art, and real estate
  2. Bodega Real: a wine import/export company
  3. ANEFP: a pharmaceutical company
  4. Real Madrid: soccer football team
