Recreational Turfgrass Management

This program combines turfgrass/horticultural expertise with the business training of the  Business and Economics program, as well as sports facilities management in the  Physical Education program. Graduates of this program are qualified for management positions at golf courses, resorts, stadiums, sod farms, municipal parks, recreational facilities, etc.

With thousands of new golf courses and other recreational facilities under construction or in the planning stages, throughout Florida and in other areas, career opportunities in this field are exceptionally good. And while there are other colleges and universities who offer turf management programs of various sorts, this program is unique in its breadth, making our graduates highly competitive for the best job positions.

The major includes the equivalent of a full minor in hotel and resort management, providing a truly exceptional education. The internship gives on-the-job experience beyond the classroom, further preparing the student with the background needed for a great career.
