Critical reading - writing - thinking: these are the skills that will make you successful, and these are the skills you will develop as an English major. Our program, well grounded in the liberal arts tradition, gives you both a broad foundation in literary studies as well as concentrated study in an area of your choice. In our classes, you will get to know your professors and fellow students-and we will get to know you and mentor you in your growth as a reader, writer, and thinker. The result? With your degree in English, you will graduate to a world of opportunities and advancement, not sink into the cubicles of the doomed. Our graduates excel in many fields-law, business, journalism, public relations, acting, education, marketing, professional writing . . . even professional golf! Being an English major is the absolute best training for taking life on your own terms, for with your skills as a critical reader, writer, and thinker, your future will be yours to decide!
