Forensics’ mission is “To build and grow confident public speakers in the field of competitive speech and debate.”
This multi-college organization trains students in speech and performance. FSC’s Forensics team began competing in intercollegiate competition in 2005 and has received awards at the state, regional, and national level. The team competes in several tournaments throughout the year and ends the season with a national tournament for the competitors who have qualified. The students compete in the southeastern district with schools from Florida, Georgia, and Alabama, and have also competed in Wyoming and New York.
The FSC team has been ranked nationally and has received the
Speakers Quality Award at Novice Nationals in Wyoming. During that
tournament, FSC’s Forensics team scored the most points ever
acquired in the Novice National. The team is sponsored through a
grant by local businessman, C.C. “Doc” Dockery.
