Connect with a Valuable Business Degree
Do you want a business degree that’s valued by employers throughout the United States? Florida Southern’s business curriculum prepares you to compete for business positions within the local, regional, and national job markets.
Our graduates find jobs in a wide range of fields, or go on to graduate schools, in business administration or accounting, but also in law, international management, and other business related fields of study.
As the largest academic department at FSC, the Department of Business and Economics attracts more than 400 students each year. Here are some of the reasons why:
- Relevant majors: Choose from business administration, accounting, and economics programs.
- Variety of specializations: Complement your education with concentrations in financial management, marketing management, international management, human resources management, or computer information systems. You will have the opportunity to develop more than one concentration of expertise.
- Broad education: In addition to courses in your major, you’ll gain a solid grounding in the liberal arts through the core curriculum and elective courses.
- Experienced faculty: Fifteen full-time faculty members bring years of business and consulting experience to your classes, all of which are taught in the modern Carlisle Rogers Business and Economics Building. Credentialed faculty teach all classes; we have no teaching or graduate assistants. With all faculty offices located in the Rogers Building, our professors easily connect with students through mentoring relationships.
- Competitive internships: You can apply your knowledge in an internship that lets you achieve your goals. Internships are required for the international management concentration only and are optional for all other business programs. Our in-house internship coordinator will help match your career interests with opportunities at hundreds of participating corporations.
- Excellent outcomes: Our students are well prepared for graduate school, including FSC’s own Master of Business Administration program, which offers specializations in accounting and international business and an optional European field experience.
- Helpful resources: You’ll have access to department tutors and an in-house state-of-the-art computer lab offering hands-on experience on computer applications for business. In addition, you can join professional fraternities and service organizations such as Sigma Delta Chi and Delta Epsilon Chi. You’ll also be eligible for scholarships funded by local businesses.
