Dr. Hedman's home page


Dr. Hedman is a logician specializing in model theory. He teaches mathematics courses in social world algorithms, elementary statistics, discrete mathematics, number theory, and differential equations. He also teaches a course in numerical analysis for computer science and mathematics majors. Dr. Hedman serves as an advisor to mathematics majors and minors and computer science / mathematics majors, and he directs undergraduate mathematics research and projects. He also advises students interested in the Mathematics Teacher Education Program. Dr. Hedman is currently serving as the faculty advisor for the KME and MAA student organizations.

Dr. Henderson specializes in computer science and in mathematics education. He teaches mathematics courses in elementary statistics, calculus, and history of mathematics, and he teaches computer science courses in visual basic programming, bits bots games, programming and data structures, computer organization and architecture, and web applications. He serves as an advisor to computer science majors and minors and computer science/mathematics majors, and he directs undergraduate computer science research and projects. He also advises students interested in the mathematics teacher education Program. Dr. Henderson is currently serving as the curriculum coordinator for the computer science major and minor and the computer science / mathematics major.

Dr. Jelsovsky is a topologist who specializes in knot theory. Dr. Jelsovsky teaches mathematics courses in social world algorithms, elementary statistics, calculus, proof techniques, elementary analysis, linear algebra, and topology. He serves as an advisor to mathematics majors and minors and he directs undergraduate mathematics research and projects. Dr. Jelsovsky coordinates the Hartje Lecture series.

Dr. Serrano is an applied mathematician who works in the areas of graph theory and coding theory. Dr. Serrano teaches mathematics courses in social world algorithms, all areas of statistics, discrete mathematics, precalculus, and calculus. She also teaches a course in coding theory for computer science and mathematics majors. She serves as an advisor to mathematics majors and minors and computer science/mathematics majors, and she directs undergraduate mathematics research and projects. Dr. Serrano is currently serving as the curriculum coordinator for the mathematics major and minor and as the internships coordinator for the department.

Dr. Walton is a computer scientist who is interested in rigorous methods for specification and evaluation of large-scale software systems. She teaches courses in programming and data structures, database analysis and design, computer game design, operating systems, programming language concepts, information assurance, and software engineering. She serves as an advisor to computer science majors and minors and computer science / mathematics majors, and she directs undergraduate computer science research and projects.
