Faculty-Student Collaboration Pays Off for Bruce Anderson’s Students
Professor Bruce Anderson Seeks to Engage Students (Ledger.com)
"My teaching philosophy is simple: the most enriching learning takes place by doing. Applied work needs to be informed by solid theory, but the best theory is useless without application."
Dr. Anderson came to Florida Southern in 2010, and was invited to join the faculty after the retirement of the entire full-time faculty of the department. He has spent his time at FSC primarily in revitalizing the Political Science program, creating a full-service pre-law program, promoting internships in all areas of the field, and working with students in collaborative research. His research areas are in Southern Politics, American campaigns and elections, legislative politics and policy analysis.
Dr. Anderson is widely published; in addition to a wealth of peer-reviewed material, he has also published numerous short articles and references, many with students as coauthors. He is currently working on a reference work for Sage Publications on "White Collar Crime", focusing on the political aspects of such activities.
