The Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs is the College’s chief academic officer and is responsible for leading the development and implementation of the administration’s academic vision. The Provost provides leadership across all academic activities through the articulation and support of academic priorities.

Florida Southern College also fully approved by the State of Florida to offer undergraduate degrees leading to teacher certification in Elementary Education, Physical Education, Music Education, Art Education and secondary education. The program also has State of Florida ESOL Endorsement for Elementary Education and Secondary English Education. The School of Education has aligned its programs to meet Florida's SubjectArea Competencies as well as the Florida Educators' Accomplished Practices (FEAP).
Our Bachelor of Nursing and Master in Science in Nursing are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education,and our bachelors degree in athletic training is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education. The Barney Barnett School of Business & Free Enterprise is currently working towards accreditation from The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). In addition, Florida Southern's music programs are also accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM).
