Dr. Tripp has been a part of the FSC community since 1971. During his years at the College, he has taught courses in Biological Science, General Zoology, Marine Biology, Histology, Developemental Biology, and Entomology.He currently serves as the Chair of the Natural Sciences Division, and was appointed to the Nelson C. White Chair in the Life Sciences in 2000.

Dr. Tripp is a member of the American Association for Advancement of Science, American Arachnological Society, Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology, and American Microscopical Society.

Dr. Tripp's professional interests include Invertebrate Biology, Comparative Invertebrate Embryology, Histology, and Marine Biology. His hobby is Tae Kwon Do.
